John Paul II to Be Beatified
Posted by Danielle Bean in News on Friday, January 14, 2011
Well, this just puts a smile on my face this morning (from Edward Pentin):
“Pope Benedict XVI has today promulgated a decree recognising a miracle took place at the intercession of the Ven. John Paul II. The beatification ceremony will take place May 1st in Rome, presided by Benedict XVI.
The date, the Second Sunday of Easter, coincides with Divine Mercy Sunday - a Feast Day instituted by John Paul II. The late Pope died on the solemnity, on April 2, 2005.
The announcement of the beatification comes after five years of investigations into the life and works of the Polish Pontiff.”
The One We Seek

It is Jesus that you seek when you dream of happiness;
He is waiting for you when nothing else you find satisfies you;
He is the beauty to which you are so attracted;
It is He who provokes you with that thirst for fullness that will not let you settle for compromise;
It is He who urges you to shed the masks of a false life;
It is He who reads in your hearts your most genuine choices, the choices that others try to stifle.
It is Jesus who stirs in you the desire to do something great with your lives, the will to follow an ideal, the refusal to allow yourselves to be ground down by mediocrity, the courage to commit yourselves humbly and patiently to improving yourselves and society, making the world more human and more fraternal.

I posted this video at Faith & Family Connect but it’s such a beautiful collection of footage that I couldn’t bear the thought of any of you missing out on it. Watching JPII interact with children is such an inspiration—enjoy!
