Where We Parked for Dinner Last Night

We celebrated the start of our school year with a boat ride and dinner at the lake last night.
Kids swam. Grown ups connected. Loons laughed. Sun set.
God’s goodness is far-reaching. It found us even here, on a tiny bit of land, on a little lake in New Hampshire.

With the crazy cold summer weather we’ve had here lately, I’ve been rushing to take advantage of even the small pockets of warmth and sunshine the heavens grant us here and there.

A Boat, A Lake, A Pole

“Make sure you’re ready for pictures,” my husband warned me when we spoke yesterday as he drove home from a 5-day all-boy fishing trip to New York.
I made sure I was ready. And I got pictures.
Not only of this monster pike Ambrose caught and managed to wrestle into the boat (all by himself—yes he did!). But of the other boys and men with fish as well.

A Summer Tease

Temperatures here yesterday reached the high 80’s.
We were impressed. Late April just doesn’t do that here in New Hampshire.
The weather man said the heat wouldn’t last, so we decided to make the most of it with our first lake trip of the season.
