Would it be silly to say that a set of plastic clips has changed my life? Well I’m going to say it anyway.
My name is Danielle and I am a laundry geek. My husband teases me that all I ever blog about is the laundry. Well, pardon me, but keeping up with the laundry happens to occupy about 75% of my average day. Or so it seems.

Found in the Laundry

Rex, the family’s favorite rooster, has been molting. Consequently, this is what I have been finding in my laundry these days—feathers. Lots of them.
I must say, I prefer pretty feathers to live snails, silly putty, beetle collections, and other laundry surprise possibilities.
I can’t be the only one who fails to check pockets. What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever found in your laundry?

The other day, while I was putting away laundry, I opened 7-year-old Stephen’s dresser drawer and found a surprise.
All his underwear and t-shirts had been removed. In their place was what you see here: tape, scissors, glue, a batting glove, gum, a torn-off pants pocket, paper, string, precious boxes containing precious secret items, and the “number seven” candle from his recent birthday cake.

If you should happen to go shopping at your favorite drug store where the single-check rebate offers entice you into stocking up on pricey brands of diapers, wipes, toothbrushes, and deodorant ...
And if you should happen to wind up spending waaaaay more than you should have simply because it will all be worthwhile once you realize the unbelievable “savings” in rebate dollars ...
DO NOT leave the receipt in your pocket and then run it through the washer and dryer rendering the required purchase identification numbers completely illegible.
Laundry Quandary

A few months ago, I adjusted the settings on my washing machine. I believe I was on some kind of green kick and decided to switch from washing with warm water and start using cold. It seemed to me that using cold water would save on energy, which would help me reduce the size of my carbon footprint, and possibly save on our energy bill as well.
