Recently, I was chatting with a friend who told me that she was headed home to take down her Christmas tree. She hated doing it, she shared. As I sat in Mass this morning on the occasion of World Day of the Sick and the optional memorial of Our Lady of Lourdes, I was touched deeply by the words of the Monsignor who celebrated today’s liturgy.

On Tuesday, immediately following my date with my “Radiation Girlfriends”, I hopped in my car and drove the three hours to San Francisco to attend the first day of this year’s MacWorld Expo.

Five years ago, after seventeen years of marriage, I had the joy of watching my husband Greg be received into the Catholic Church through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA).
