Easter Feasting

In one of my college theology courses, the professor told us that it would be just as wrong to fast during the octave of Easter as it would be to succumb to gluttony on Good Friday. When the Church tells us to feast, he said, she means it.

Late Lent

February will be over next week. Am I the only one who keeps getting thrown off by the fact that it’s not Lent yet?
With Easter almost as late as possible, Lent isn’t starting until March 9th this year. Since it almost always starts in February, this feels strange.

Bacon and Donuts Begone

Pancakes aren’t my thing, but making homemade doughnuts on Fat Tuesday is a family tradition. We fried them today, and then we had bacon and doughnuts for dinner.
