Will You March?

Who will be at the March for Life?

This morning for my segment on the Son Rise Morning Show, host Brian Patrick and I discussed social media coverage of next Monday’s upcoming March for Life in Washington D.C. The topic interests me greatly, since I’ve never been able to actually attend the March. In recent years, I have found that by following selected friends on Facebook and Twitter, I can get a sense of what it must be like in that... READ MORE

Enormous, Invisible, Pro-Life Crowd

what the mainstream media won't show you

I loved the powerful impact of this time-lapse video of the crowd at the March for Life last week. You won’t see this crowd reported on mainstream media channels. Thank you Air Maria!

Where Can I Get a Shirt Like That?

On the way to the mall for the March for Life, my daughter, Julia, took this picture of an unsuspecting pilgrim she saw in a D.C. bookstore. I just LOVE how the March is the catalyst for people of faith to descend on our nation’s capital and fill its every corner with prayer and images of pro-life zeal!

Jesus Wept

I left my favorite rosary at home yesterday.

It’s quite ironic actually, as I was going to pray at a Holy Hour for Life, and the rosary I forgot was my “most pro-life” rosary, if such a thing can exist. The beads were created from roses we had received when our family was grieving in the aftermath of a miscarriage. Our baby girl, Grace Elizabeth, is especially close to me from heaven every time I... Signs of Life

Photos From the March for Life in D.C.

I wasn’t able to attend the March for Life in washington, D.C. this year, but Faith & Family associate editor Lynn Wehner made the trek with one of her daughters.

When she got back, she shared these short inspiring thoughts (along with several photos of the most notable signs she saw—click “read more” to see them):

“Never” is usually such a pessimistic word … not so at this year’s March for Life!... READ MORE

"I Love This Week"

Last night on the House floor, Congressman Jim Jordan of Ohio explained why he loves March for Life week in Washington.

Many more Congressmen rose to defend life too. Find links to their statements here.

Jordan is right—the East Coast march is like a big family reunion—even on a cold, wet day, as it will be in Washington today. (I am trying to coffee up—sorry, Arwen!—against the cold before the Tetis head out.)

We’re marching with our parish, and overnight we hosted a student group from Atlanta which drove up to participate. The poor things had to drive through freezing rain all night and only got in at 3 am. Those are some determined marchers!

Are you marching? Where? East coast, West coast, Atlanta, other?  This year there is a virtual March for Life, too. Check it out.

Bump

Provocative series looks at three unintended pregnancies.

Tomorrow, while many of us will be marching, fasting and praying for life, a web based series will allow viewers to chime in on the outcome of a “reality” type look at three women and their unintended pregnancies.  From the series website, comes the following description of the show:

In 1973, the U.S. Supreme Court gave women a choice. Thirty-seven years later, we’re giving them a voice. BUMP+, a... READ MORE

On this week’s episode of the Faith & Family Live Cast (click here to listen or click on the player above) Danielle, Elizabeth and I take on topics related to teens and technology.  During the month of January, Pope Benedict XVI has asked us to join him in praying for the following intention:

That young people may learn to use modern means of social communication for their personal growth and to better... READ MORE

We Need Change Now

Pastor Luke Robinson at the March for Life

In the comments on Rebecca’s post about last week’s March for Life, Clare asked about the passionate black speaker she heard at the rally before the March. I too was struck by this man’s powerful message. He is Pastor Luke Robinson and here is the video of his amazing speech.
