Chant to Inspire

A few years ago, my parents and I had the opportunity to visit Ave Maria Grotto in Cullman, Alabama. It was such a moving experience that I created a video which is now featured on the Grotto’s website. While in Cullman, we enjoyed mass at St. Bernard Abbey and were treated to chant by the Monks of the Abbey. Today, while searching YouTube, I came across this video which features chant by the Monks of St. Bernard. Their music is the perfect thing to savor during Lent. Once you’ve enjoyed this, please take some time to visit their website, which includes a virtual chapel, their fantastic candle shop, and more information about the Benedictine monks who live and pray together at the Abbey.
Rule of St. Benedict
Posted by Danielle Bean in Faith on Monday, September 15, 2008
The Rule of St. Benedict has been called “... an epitome of Christianity, a learned and mysterious abridgement of all the doctrines of the Gospel, all the institutions of the Fathers, and all the counsels of perfection” (Bossuet, 1627-1704, Bp. of Meaux). And now you can receive free this Christian classic in an easy-to-understand, modernized English translation, with an introduction by Abbot Placid Solari, OSB.
Maybe I’m biased because I went to a Benedictine college, but I do think every Catholic should be familiar with the Rule of St. Benedict—especially moms who seek balance between work and prayer in their daily routines.
Here is a great opportunity. In an offer from The One Minute Monk, you can get a free copy (you pay $6.95 shipping).
