Santa’s Secret

Netflix to stop re-selling used DVDs

If you are a member of Netflix, you are probably aware that they regularly offer used DVDs for sale at discounted prices.

I’ve just learned that after November 30 of this year, they will no longer be offering this service. If someone on your Christmas list is a movie fan, you might want to check out their available titles now before it’s too late.

PS: If you are looking for a Catholic alternative to Netflix, please consider PiusMedia.com. They offer totally clean and Catholic-themed online DVD rentals for education and entertainment purposes. They support what we do here at Faith and Family with their advertising dollars. Check them out!

Filming Grace

The Movie Man Who Bumped into God

By Simcha Fisher

Aaron Wiederspahn is a man who follows through.

The 36-year-old writer and director of the independent film The Sensation of Sight has chosen a difficult road for his fledgling production company, either/or films: He wants to bring his characters — and thus the audience — to an inescapable confrontation with mystery, “the mystery of grace.”

“It’s like Jacob wrestling with God,”... READ MORE

Bringing Faith to Film

Young people bring Christ to a new generation ... through movies

Digitally Pro-Life

Matthew Connors, age 19

No one knew better than Pope John Paul II the importance of using the media to proclaim the Gospel. It’s a lesson some young people are absorbing and answering.

“I always wanted to tell stories through film,” says 19-year-old college sophomore Matthew Connors. Looking for a school last year, he found John Paul the Great University in San Diego, Calif. —... READ MORE

Fireproof Newsflash!

Your support is working!!

I just received an email with the great news that Fireproof was the number 3 American movie at the box office yesterday!!  This is in direct response to all of you out there who not only went out to see the movie, but also to those who have helped to spread the word about this great family film.

If you haven’t had a chance to see Fireproof yet, please consider making time tonight or tomorrow to go out and enjoy the film during opening weekend.  Together, we can send a message to Hollywood that we want these types of films in our theaters.  Click here for more information on Fireproof or here to find it playing at a theater near you.

Date Night Movie

A perfect movie to see with your spouse

In just a few short days, we have the perfect opportunity to send Hollywood a message that you and I are ready and willing to support a certain type of movie.

It’s not the latest blockbuster, or an R rated romp, but rather a nice, clean movie with a solid message.  It only has one “name” star - and some of us had a crush on him in the 80’s.

No one gets killed, no aliens land on earth, and no one uses... READ MORE

Henry Poole is Here

Hope Can Save You

I have not yet seen this movie, but the trailer intrigued me. And then reading this positive Catholic review clinched the deal. I must see this movie.

CMR reports some predictably negative reviews. Have you seen it yet? Share!

When school’s out, kids around the country visit selected Regal theatres for the Free Family Film... READ MORE
