That’s the feeling Joe Carter has after watching this tribute to legendary basketball coach John Wooden, and I’m with him.
Coach Wooden passed away earlier this month. The poem he cites at the end of the piece was written for him by Swen Nater, a player he coached. Nater explains the poem:

Bishop Saltarelli, RIP

I no sooner posted the news of Bishop Xili’s death below when I read of the passing of a bishop much closer to home.
Bishop Michael Saltarelli, DD, former bishop of Wilmington, passed away from cancer this morning.

Thomas Dillon, RIP

Many of you no doubt heard of the untimely passing last week of the president of Thomas Aquinas College, Thomas Dillon.

Fr. Richard Neuhaus, R.I.P.

As many of you have probably heard by now, Fr. Richard Neuhaus—convert, priest of the Archdiocese of New York, author and editor of First Things—died this morning from complications of his battle with cancer.
In this short video (HT NCRegister), Fr. Neuhaus speaks of the importance of young people having the courage to make decisions. He reminds us to have faith: “Be not afraid.”
