Race for the Cure Drops Planned Parenthood—Updated

Note: see bottom of this post for an update

The Susan G. Komen foundation is cutting ties with Planned Parenthood—at least for now.

The severance has not been announced publicly, and officially at least is not a repudiation of Planned Parenthood.

Komen spokeswoman Leslie Aun said the cutoff results from the charity’s newly adopted criteria barring grants to organizations that are under investigation... READ MORE

The Bold & The Lame

www.quickmeme.com/judgmental-bookseller-ostrich

Simcha Fisher has a thoughtful post up at the Register today.

It’s about de-funding Planned Parenthood, but along the way she makes an important observation about how adolescents actually think.

I can still remember that a girl who looks very hard, very sophisticated and bold in sexy clothes and elaborately made up eyes is still just a little girl, no matter how dirty she acts or how cold or sassy... READ MORE

Planned Parenthood Bunnies

Save the baby humans!

Wow. If you’ve seen that too-dumb-for-words “We Won’t Go Back” pro-abortion ad MoveOn.org released a few weeks ago, you will be gratified to learn that those who oppose government funding of Planned Parenthood are fighting back with their own hard-hitting ads. There are no graphic images in this one, but it’s alarming nonetheless. In all the right ways.

From Planned Parenthood to Pro-Life

After 8 years, PP director Abby Johnson has a change of heart

“The money wasn’t in family planning, the money wasn’t in prevention, the money was in abortion and so I had a problem with that,” said Johnson.

Blood Money

new documentary exposes Planned Parenthood

Have you heard of the documentary “Blood Money”?

It’s about the abortion industry, particularly Planned Parenthood.

Here’s the trailer. (Warning: fleeting graphic images)

The film has no distributor yet, but is hoping publicity will find it one. If you’d like to register support for this effort and be kept abreast of the film’s progress, you can sign up here.

Hillary Clinton Meets Our Lady of Guadalupe

I loved reading this news story this morning about Our Lady’s quiet, steadfast witness.

During Hillary Clinton’s recent trip to Mexico, the Secretary of State made an unexpected stop to leave flowers for Our Lady at the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Msgr. Monroy took Mrs. Clinton to the famous image of Our Lady of Guadalupe, which had been previously lowered from its usual altar for the occasion.... READ MORE

An Interview With Margaret Sanger

Got a few minutes?

You simply must go watch young Mike Wallace conduct this 1957 interview with Margaret Sanger, foundress of Planned Parenthood.

It’s not just that it provides a personal glimpse into a woman pro-lifers probably think of as our nemesis.

It’s a window into a different world. Listen to their voices: there’s an entirely different diction. Watch the ads: another aesthetic entirely.... READ MORE

Two Arms To Arms

a kitchen table apostolate

The smallest apostolates can reap a big harvest. That’s the principle behind Project Mustard Seed, a pro-life apostolate begun in 1992 by David and Susan Arms. The idea is beautifully simple. The couple noticed that Life Decisions International published a “boycott list” of companies who contribute to Planned Parenthood. “What if those companies heard from us—a lot of us?” they thought.

Thus began... READ MORE
