Moms of the Pro-Life Movement

http://www.sba-list.org/suzy-b-blog/susan-b-anthony-list-seeking-young-women-leaders

Here’s a nice piece in the Washington Post’s On Faith column on the young moms of the pro-life movement.

It features my friend Marjorie Dannenfelser of the Susan B. Anthony List.
(Great picture at the link, Marjorie!)

Recent news stories about the new vitality of the antiabortion movement and its legislative achievements — more than a dozen states enacting record numbers of abortion restrictions this... READ MORE

The Kids Are All Right

good news on the pro-life front

Amidst news reports on battles & skirmishes, it can be difficult to see what’s happening in the larger conflict.

Here’s a heartening article about the long-term success of the pro-life movement.

You may or may not agree with some of the political assumptions, but you’ll like this news:

In 2011 alone, 24 states have enacted 52 new restrictions on abortion. Five now require an ultrasound before an... READ MORE

How to Love

a pro-life, pro-marriage message from a surprising source

The following video is inappropriate for kids, but I hope you’ll take a look at it.

It’s not from an artist or genre ordinarily to my taste, but I watched after reading about it at Dr. Alveda King’s blog. I’m impressed and heartened, and think you will be too.

No Easy Surrenders!

Last week’s post on the threat to the First Amendment right to free exercise of religion posed by Health and Human Services rules slated to take effect next summer garnered some attention on facebook and google+.

I posted to spread the word, and to point out some unintended consequences of the effort to force pro-lifers to assent to abortion, so was pleased in that regard.

But jeepers, the comments... READ MORE

Conservatives Can Be Hotties Too?

I am not a prude.

I realize that nothing screams “I am a prude!” more loudly than beginning a blog post with that sentence, but I truly am not the kind of person who usually gets herself twisted in knots over “inappropriate” and “offensive” things she sees online. It’s a big world, I’m a big girl, and I can accept that some people’s standards differ from my own.

So when I happened upon The 20 Hottest Conservative Women in The New Media,... READ MORE

A "Risk-Free Place to Fight Abortion"?

No such thing, says Fr. Frank Pavone

Fr. Frank Pavone has a powerful post at LifeSite News this week. And, not surprisingly, he offers us a challenge. Hey, a challenge. Just in time for Lent.

The hard truth is that children in the womb are at risk of losing their lives. Every. Day. Why do we think we shouldn’t have to risk something to save them? Are we too cautious in this battle — or are we truly “willing to suffer the consequences... READ MORE

Precious Life Hair Bow

pro-life hair accessories -- what's not to love?

Okay. How very sweet and simple and adorable is this?

It’s the Precious Life hair bow, available from the good folks at Hair Bows for Life. 10% of all sales at Hair Bows for Life always goes to support pro-life charities, but 50% of sales of this Precious Life hair bow will be donated to charity.

I think we all must know at least one little girl who could use one of these in her Easter basket this year. Available in lots of sizes and styles.

Planned Parenthood Bunnies

Save the baby humans!

Wow. If you’ve seen that too-dumb-for-words “We Won’t Go Back” pro-abortion ad MoveOn.org released a few weeks ago, you will be gratified to learn that those who oppose government funding of Planned Parenthood are fighting back with their own hard-hitting ads. There are no graphic images in this one, but it’s alarming nonetheless. In all the right ways.

4 Minutes and 52 Seconds of Truth

Check out this great pro-life speech from one of the “new guys” on Capitol Hill.

A couple (of many) highlights ...

“We can use any euphemism, like ‘fetus’ or ‘dividing tissue’ or ‘embryo,’ or just simply ‘inconvenience,’ but no one comes to the family and says: How is the embryo? No one says to a pregnant woman or hears a pregnant woman say: Excuse me, I just felt the fetus kick. No one comes to a... READ MORE

Enormous, Invisible, Pro-Life Crowd

what the mainstream media won't show you

I loved the powerful impact of this time-lapse video of the crowd at the March for Life last week. You won’t see this crowd reported on mainstream media channels. Thank you Air Maria!
