I am a firm believer that home grown tomatoes are how we know God loves us.

During the octave of Easter, my kids are allowed to eat (or not eat) anything they choose.

The rest of the year sugary cereals never enter our home.

After the Easter Vigil, however, as Dennis & I pour ourselves a drink, the kids end their Lenten fasts with something nutritionally abominable.

This year it was Reese’s Puffs.

In the Moment

Late yesterday afternoon, Juliette had soccer practice. As it was cold and threatening rain (we actually had snow earlier in the day), I was tempted to drop her off instead of staying at the field while she practiced.

But something (perhaps it was the snow) set my mind to thinking about the long, indoor winter days that lie ahead. I told the kids to pack the van and get ready. We were all going.
