Hymns to St. Joseph

To honor St. Joseph on his feast, here’s a beautiful hymn sung by the Benedictines of Mary, Queen of Apostles.
I’m reprising two other St. Joseph items too, just because I like them!
1. My friend Joe Fornieri’s tribute to his namesake—one of my favorite reflections ever on St. Joseph.
2. Considering the times in which the Church finds itself, a prayer to him as Protector of the Universal Church (at the close of the post).
Happy feast day to the Holy Father and to all the Josephs, Joes, Josephines & Josies out there!
(A polite nod for the hymn to: Donald McClarey.)
Red for St. Joseph

Here's to You, Dad!

Blessings today to to every man who labors and loves, protects and provides:
Prayer for Fathers
St. Joseph, guardian of Jesus and chaste husband of Mary, you passed your life in loving fulfillment of duty. You supported the holy family of Nazareth with the work of your hands. Kindly protect those who trustingly come to you. You know their aspirations, their hardships, their hopes. They look to you because they know you will understand and protect them. You too knew trial, labor and weariness. But amid the worries of material life your soul was full of deep peace and sang out in true joy through intimacy with God’s Son entrusted to you and with Mary, his tender Mother. Assure those you protect that they do not labor alone. Teach them to find Jesus near them and to watch over him faithfully as you have done.

St. Joseph Upside Down

This post requires a disclaimer.
Although I know some people who swear by it, I cannot in conscience recommend the practice of burying a St. Joseph statue upside down in order to sell a house.
Seems a little rude to me! St. Joseph is a good man and a powerful intercessor: if you need to sell or find a house, just ask him. He’ll come through because of your prayer. Don’t bury the poor man in the... READ MORE
