Creative End-of-Year Gifts

What do you give?

As we near the end of the school year, parents everywhere are scrambling to find meaningful gifts to show their appreciation for their children’s teachers. And teachers everywhere are bracing themselves for an onslaught of baked goods and coffee mugs.

I think it’s important to recognize and show gratitude for hard-working teachers and coaches who make a difference in our children’s lives, but as the... READ MORE

Faith & Family Subscription Information

Thanks for your support!

In light of our recent exciting news about changes going on here at Faith & Family, some of you have been asking about purchasing subscriptions to Faith & Family magazine for yourselves and others.

First of all, THANK YOU for asking! To keep us going through this transition, the magazine and website need your support more than ever. Knowing this, it has pained me to leave our subscription links broken on the site for so many weeks as we transitioned to new ownership. Please bear with us as we are still updating some of the links on the site, but the links for subscriptions and gift subscriptions on this page are updated and working.

Some readers have also asked about the status of our next issue. I am pleased to tell you that current subscribers will suffer no lapse in service. The transition has delayed production of our Spring 2011 issue, but it will in fact be published and mailed in late April to arrive in mailboxes in early May.

I am overjoyed to have this opportunity to continue to serve Faith & Family readers through our print publication. If you appreciate what we do here online, I hope that you will consider purchasing a magazine subscription as a means of supporting our work. Thank you!

May I Have That in Writing?

Thoughts on the handwritten thank you note ...

It’s almost three weeks since Christmas. Do you know where your thank you notes are?

I used to be so good at this with my own and my kids’ correspondence. Following birthdays, Christmas, and any other gift-giving event, I would be sure that handwritten thank you’s within a reasonable time frame were the order of business. I don’t know what happened. Maybe with the advent of ubiquitous electronic communications,... READ MORE

How to Thank the Pampering Angels

Overwhelmed by Kindness

When my husband walked through the front door last night he had two huge gift baskets for me. Nope, they weren’t from him, though he was sweet enough to pick them up and deliver them to me.

The card inside read:

“In your delicate condition, we thought you would love some pampering, so here are two baskets filled with lots of goodies for your bath and palate - enjoy! Bon Appetit and Relax!
Love from... READ MORE

words of gratitude from Amy Welborn Dubruiel

(Amy Welborn Dubruiel sent along this note this morning with the request that I post it for all of you here at Faith & Family Live.)

Since that day, I have been overwhelmed by many new realities, emotions and spiritual tides.  Some of it has been confusing, some negative and some of it has... READ MORE
