My daughter loves to look at our wedding pictures, at Mama and Daddy all dressed up. She likes to talk about our wedding, too, and I tell her all the details she wants.
She did surprise me one day, though. “Mama, remember when you and Daddy got married? And I was there?”
“Sweetheart, you weren’t.”

Here’s one:
“After reading Martin Luther, I am thinking of becoming protest. Protestant theology teaches “faith alone,” also known as ‘sola fillet’ or ‘sola feta.’”
Never write essays on an empty stomach might be the lesson there.
Though I’d like to think there really was such a thing as “dessert asceticism.”

You probably caught the recent incident where Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, a self-professed Catholic, told an interviewer she can’t say for sure when life begins, and also mentioned that the Catholic Church does not have a historically consistent teaching on the topic.
