Twins Are One!

A celebration for them and some reflection for me

My husband had a countdown on his phone for months. Every so often he gave me an update. It was a big deal when we hit the halfway point, and three-quarters, and less than two months left. Last week, with mere days to go, I didn’t need updates. I could count for myself.

Linus Michael and Ambrose John were born just after midnight on May 12th last year. Last Saturday, they were one year old. ONE WHOLE... READ MORE

Twin Giggles

Enjoy!

Would a video of a baby laughing brighten your day? Would it be even better if it were two babies?

I’ve been loving how easy it is to make my twins crack up these days, and yesterday it occurred to me: other people might enjoy this view! Ambrose is on the left in brown, Linus on the right in white. Ignore the dorky noises their mama is making; I’ll do pretty much anything to get a laugh out of my little ones.

Which Came First?

turning a baby corner

We had a chicken costume in 3-6 months size, and we have two babies, so what could we do but make an egg?

Actually, I wasn’t planning on dressing the babies up at all, since basic non-frivolous tasks take all my energy these days. Kids demand costumes, but babies don’t care, so why bother?

But we only have two babies once. One chance to make a hilarious double costume so we can enjoy the photos for... READ MORE

Escape Artist

cute video

I thought Arwen might want to watch this one…

Two for One

challenges/blessings

I like to nap with a baby. I lie on my side, snuggle the baby on my arm, and wake up well rested hours later.

Twins complicate this.

Last week my big kids were at my parents’ house, and I was determined to nap with the twins. But the couple times I tried it, I ended up on my back in the bed with a baby on each arm, afraid to move either of them but unable to sleep well myself.

The situation felt... READ MORE

Feel Like Crying?

This might just do the trick

Tim Dunn’s mom sent me an email with a link to this video. Here is what she told me about it:

“This is my son who works in campus ministry at Xavier University. He wrote this song for his twin brother’s wedding.  It is a reflection of what happens when family relationships are valued and cultivated in our daily lives.”

I think you’ll agree he has reason to be proud of her big boys.

From Start to Finish

Twin friars die together

I love everything about this story of twin Franciscan friars who spent their entire life together and died together too.

They played together, went to school together, as young men traveled cross-country together—and, in their 20s, joined the Franciscan order together.

And on Wednesday, after 65 years as identical twins wearing the identical brown robes of the Franciscans—mostly at St. Bonaventure... READ MORE

A Bouquet for Arwen and Her Babies

an opportunity to support the Mosher family

Oh, this is a lovely idea!

Some of the (many) folks who love Arwen and Bryan and all their adorable babies are putting together a spiritual bouquet for them, collecting prayers on their behalf.

I hope that lots and lots of us here at Faith & Family will click over to offer good wishes and prayers in support of the amazing Mosher family!

It's a Boy! And a Boy!

Congratulations to the Moshers!

I loved watching the #moshertwins hashtag on Twitter last night.

And I LOVED waking up this morning to find that Linus Michael and Ambrose John were born at 12:38 and 12:41 am today.

Babies are doing well and Mom is tweeting her joy. Congratulations to all the Moshers!

Double the Fun!

Watch and enjoy

This video is for Arwen and also my friend K. and all you other ladies out there who are pregnant with twin boys! (Are there a lot of you out there? Tell us who you are!)
