I challenge you to watch this video and not wind up with a big goofy grin on your face by the end. This kind of joy is positively infectious.

As Danielle shared with you on Sunday, she and I were blessed to meet in person this week at the Catholic New Media Celebration organized by SQPN.com. One of the thrills of the weekend for me was spending time in person with Mrs. Bean, who has long been one of my role models. Danielle and I have “known” one another online for years, so it was a complete joy to simply “hang out” with her for a few... READ MORE

Many thanks to Paul Camarata, the genius behind The SaintCast, for this Catholic version of the popular Apple commercial:

I Sing The Mighty Power Of God
Posted by Rebecca Teti in Reviews on Tuesday, June 09, 2009
We awoke this morning to a clap and roll of thunder so close and powerful the sound shook the house and set off all the car alarms on the street.
That set me meditating on and off today on the power of God. (Storms rolled in and out all day.)
This video enabling us to see down the funnel of a tornado seemed like an appropriate cap to that somehow.
Beautiful and terrible—but the footage is very cool.... READ MORE

I just finished watching the amazing bike video posted by Danielle earlier today. I’ll admit it left me with some complicated emotions, feelings that ranged from “oh my gosh that is amazing” to “oh my gosh what if my boys decide to try that one day” to “oh my gosh I need to go lie down”.
Even before Henry broke his leg last week, I had my safety issues. I can go into those another time, as I’m too raw to deal with them right now. But I will say that the way Henry broke his leg did not involve any of my prior fear factors. So now I have the joy of adding to an already decent-sized list a few new things to fret about. I’m trying to chill out, but the odds are not stacked in my favor.
In the spirit of me not being totally neurotic, here is a cool video sent along to me a while back by Fr. Tim, my husband’s college roommate who can also, like my husband, recite large chunks of dialoge from most movies starring Clint Eastwood or Chuck Norris. This video is either Parkour, or it is footage of my boys in the backyard, I’m not sure which.
Keep This From Your Sons

I really enjoyed watching this video, but I don’t think I’ll be showing it to my sons. They might find it just a bit too ... inspirational. And hasn’t Henry given us all enough trauma drama for a while?
Pro-Life Message to Air During American Idol
Posted by Danielle Bean in News on Friday, May 08, 2009
CatholicVote.org, the folks behind the pro-life ads that were rejected during the Super Bowl for being “too political,” have succeeded in creating a new pro-life ad that has already been accepted for airing during the season finale of American Idol. Let’s pray that this beautiful, positive message reaches hearts that need to hear it most.
