Every Mom Can Relate
Posted by Danielle Bean in Family on Tuesday, March 02, 2010
Back during the summer Olympics, I remember having a conversation with a friend of mine who may or may not be a blogger here (*cough* Rachel! *cough cough*) about Michael Phelps. The gist of the conversation was something like this: Am I old or something? Here is a beautiful, talented young man and all I can think about is how proud his mother be.
I think this P&G commercial is just for moms like us:

While the rest of you are partying and eating pancakes for dinner, I’ll be online tonight at the SQPN Mardi Gras Marathon raising awareness and funds for the Catholic new media evangelization efforts of the Star Quest Production Network. The marathon is online now and will be running until midnight ET to help close out the SQPN giving campaign. Our family will be online at 9:00 pm ET with a little... READ MORE

I thought you might enjoy viewing this very well done video featuring Law Professor and Catholic mom Helen Alvare speaking about the New Feminism. What place does the “New Feminism” play in your role—in your work, your home and your faith community?
Now That's a Pro-Life Ad

At NCRegister.com I’ve been blogging a bit about feminists’ varying reactions to the upcoming pro-life Super Bowl ad featuring football star Tim Tebow. In my research, I was intrigued to come across this pro-life video featuring NFL players from 1989.
With all the furor over the subtle, tame Tebow ad, can you imagine the uproar if they dared to produce something like this today?

Preparing the Way

I hope you enjoy watching this week’s Kids Gospel Moment with your family in preparation for the Third Sunday of Advent. Our theme this week is “Joy!”. We suggest that in honor of the Year for Priests, your children share with their favorite priest why he brings your family joy. As you light the rose candle on the Advent wreath this weekend, I hope you find a little room for JOY!

Listening to Jesus
Posted by Lisa Hendey in Faith on Saturday, November 21, 2009
This week, we celebrate the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ the King. On this week’s children’s video message, we encourage our children to think about all of the characteristics of a great king and to thank Jesus for being our savior and king! As we wind down this liturgical year, take some special time this weekend with your children to dig into the Gospel message for Sunday and to listen for Christ’s voice in your own life.
