The Disturbing Truth

This video makes a powerful impact, particularly alongside the disturbing Margaret Sanger quote I saw it published with at Bad Catholic this past weekend.

One Organized Mama

an inspiring look

This clip really helps me want to do better.

Clever

a how-to video

Thanks to my sister Joanna for sending this my way.

Reflection, Redirection

a nice little reset

Our summer is going so great—lots of fun and action and activity.

But there is also lots of fatigue. Summertime, while wonderful, can also be exhausting.

This song was an effective “reset” for me this afternoon when I was feeling a bit overwhelmed by the noise and speed of my day. I hope it helps you too, if you are in need of a deep cleansing breath.

Outdoor Spaces

a little inspiration

I love this video put together by a crafty lady who recreated her covered-porch/deck area. Though I don’t have a space quite like this, I found plenty of inspiration. This time of the year, we don’t use our deck quite as much (translated: walk outside and prepare to wilt!), but I might try the shade trick used here, to get a little coverage. Do you enjoy sprucing up a place to just be in your yard? What have you done to make it enjoyable?

Feel Like Crying?

This might just do the trick

Tim Dunn’s mom sent me an email with a link to this video. Here is what she told me about it:

“This is my son who works in campus ministry at Xavier University. He wrote this song for his twin brother’s wedding.  It is a reflection of what happens when family relationships are valued and cultivated in our daily lives.”

I think you’ll agree he has reason to be proud of her big boys.

Wonderdog!

This dog is amazing

In my dreams, I have a dog that does amazing tricks and is kind and obedient and eager to please. Paul and I have had three dogs in our family history, and each situation has ended badly. None was the dream dog I hoped for.

Do you have an awesome dog? You should teach it this cool trick.
