A Real Public Service

Bert was always my favorite character in Mary Poppins, but I like Dick Van Dyke even more now.

The actor is donating his time as the new spokesperson for the Cell Therapy Foundation, which supports and educates about adult stem cell research. It’s good work!

You can see the first PSA featuring Mr. Van Dyke at the Cell Therapy Foundation’s website.

Joyful, Joyful

Enjoy this moment from this week's TOB Congress

I was able to capture this special moment from the closing Mass at the National Theology of the Body Congress this week.  It was such a beautiful ending to a fantastic few days.  Cardinal Justin Rigali was our celebrant, and the site of so many priests concelebrating together was a true joy.  Enjoy!

Natural Family Planning Awareness Week

Pausing to pray

As you read this, I am attending the National Theology of the Body Congress in Pennsylvania.  Tonight, I will have the great honor of moderating a panel with several notable TOB speakers and authors.  It feels fitting to be in this place during NFP Awareness Week, when we the commemorate the anniversary of the papal encyclical Humanae Vitae (July 25) which articulates Catholic beliefs about human... A Day in the City

Come along on a "cool" getaway

Yesterday, Greg had a meeting up in San Francisco, so I decided to tag along for a break from our 100 degree temperatures.  It felt so wonderful to see the Bay, put on a jacket, enjoy noon Mass at St. John of God, and walk in the gardens of Golden Gate Park. I thought you might enjoy seeing this little video, which was shot and edited entirely with my iPhone and the new iMovie App. The music featured is “Amazed” by Sean Clive. Enjoy!

Eleven on Her Own

One family's story

Thanks to friend and blogger Leticia Velasquez for sharing the following video about a homeschooling family doing their best to live out their faith under very difficult circumstances.  I share this video because I think it provides a unique insight into one home but also captures the struggles faced by many families these days.  I would love to hear your thoughts and reactions once you’ve viewed the video.

Starting the Day Right

This little girl knows how

Her dad put it on YouTube and entitled it, cutely, “Jessica’s ‘Daily Affirmation’” - and the video has been watched 1.7 million times. With good reason.

Have you seen this one yet? You don’t want to miss it.

How much more fun would life be if we all started our days this way?
