Let the Healing Begin
Posted by Lisa Hendey in Faith on Saturday, July 18, 2009
I’m very happy to share the following video by talented Catholic recording artist Elizabeth Schmeidler. Elizabeth shares that this song, “Let the Healing Begin”, was written to raise awareness, healing and compassion for those who have been affected by abortion. At the end of the video, she provides resource information for Rachel’s Vineyard, a wonderful organization that helps women heal following the trauma of abortion. Please join me in praying for the dignity of life for ALL on this Saturday.
Star Struck!

I’m a self confessed Catholic music groupie. While other people may be totally into Dave Matthews or Sheryl Crow, I’ll take Matt Maher and Sarah Bauer any day of the week! So you can imagine my excitement this past weekend at being able to personally meet Sarah Bauer at the Catholic New Media Celebration.
Sarah’s songs have a way of touching my heart and inspiring me to try to be a better person. ... READ MORE

From my friend who sends the jumping/biking/water-sliding videos, comes one with parachutes and cliffs! Thanks, FT.
Thank You Lord!

This video by Catholic recording artist Donna Lee is a beautiful testimonial to the joy of a truly thankful heart. Speaking about the inspiration behind the song, Donna shares, “(This is) a song that I wrote that was inspired by going to Lanciano, a city in Italy where they have a Eucharistic miracle. I sang in the church and after communion the Holy Spirit inspired this song.” Enjoy!
Catholic Mom, Lawyer, Rocker

Billie Tarascio is not your average housewife. This Catholic mom of three is also a lawyer, providing affordable legal representation to those in need. And as if that weren’t enough, Billie is blossoming as a Catholic rocker with the launch of her debut CD, Send Me. I recently had the chance to interview Billie Tarascio after falling in love with her music.
Our conversation (which can be read in full here)... READ MORE
Praying for Rick’s Jawbone
Posted by Lisa Hendey in Faith on Tuesday, May 26, 2009
It’s funny how the Internet can sometimes make the world feel so very small. A few weeks ago, my good friend Deacon Tom Fox emailed me a prayer request inviting me to join him in intercessory prayer for the healing of a man named Rick, whose cancer has required the removal of a large portion of his jawbone. I will likely never meet Rick in person, but since that day he’s been on my prayer list... READ MORE

If you’re a listener of our our Faith & Family Live Cast, you’ll recognize our wonderful theme song—Radiance by the incomparable Sarah Bauer. Sarah’s song is one of my absolute favorites - the reminder that each of us has a unique set of gifts to share with God and one another is a message that never gets old for me. This song became my anthem during my recent radiation treatments when I truly... READ MORE
Hidden Holiness

Today we celebrate the life of St. Joseph. So little is really known about this very special man, who played such a huge role in our salvation history. I wanted to share with you this special video by Fr. James Martin, S.J., excerpted from his new DVD Who Cares About the Saints? Fr. Martin has such a wonderful way of bringing the lives of the saints into perspective. In this video, I love his perspective on how quietly and without attention, St. Joseph humbly served and followed God’s will for his life. As mothers, so frequently we work in our homes to share our faith with and educate our children. Often, a mother’s efforts go largely unnoticed. As we celebrate the life of St. Joseph today, let us remind ourselves that serving and loving in quiet humility is indeed the highest of callings.
Pro-life Videos
a different approach

I am posting these two videos because they are breathtaking. The videos are different than what I’m used to, but I found them to be at least as powerful as any other pro-life message I have seen. Incredible to see all the different vessels God can use to spread his message.
