Time For Veggies

a fun new website

Great news for all you Veggie Tales fans—the popular video series now has a website! The new site features games, videos and stories about the Bible.

Visitors are greeted by Larry the Cucumber, who acts as tour guide for the site. There are games, video clips, silly songs, interactive story books, e-cards, character pages and Bible verses. The site also offers downloadable coloring pages and cut-outs.... READ MORE

Meals for Moms

a handy website!

I’m setting up meals for my friend who just had twin boys (babies number six and seven!), and a friend alerted me to an amazing website called Take Them A Meal (thank you Carrie!).

The site lets people sign in, pick a date, and note what food they plan to bring. It’s the perfect way to organize a few weeks of meals without having to make an hour’s worth of phone calls. I’m giving it a try (but also... READ MORE

New Marketplace for Fashion

Sense of Fashion has caught my eye!

Are any of you familiar with Sense of Fashion? I just discovered it myself. It’s like Etsy—a marketplace website—but solely for fashion! They feature items from all over the world, including apparel, shoes, jewelry, and (my personal favorite) vintage goods. Here is an excerpt from their About Us page:

We are the marketplace for fashion.

And like any real marketplace, we are alive: upcoming designers... READ MORE

Lots of Legos

a website your boys will love

If you have boys, then you probably have Legos. If so, you might enjoy a Lego a day, a clever blog that offers a Lego-themed snapshot almost daily.

Go check it out. And special thanks to Suzanne at Blessed Among Men for introducing the boys of Testosterhome to this fun site!

Good Stuff Online

a fun recent discovery

From the creators of Veggie Tales comes Jellytelly, a new website with daily webisodes that are totally appealing to kids. Jellytelly is like Seasame Street with a message—it’s got puppets and skits and even songs about the Bible.

The best endorsement I can give the website is that my boys love it—all five of them. Since discovering this gem last week, I have found the group of them gathered around the computer watching together, and then wanting to know more about books of the Bible. Need I say more?

Foodie Alert

Two sites worth checking out

I’ve recently come across two menu planning websites that I wanted to pass along to you.

The first site is called Meals Matter, and the recommendation comes from my friend Annette. “[The site] has lots of great features,” she writes, “including shopping lists, recipes, nutritional info, and putting together your own cookbook that can be shared with others.” Annette is an incredible homeschooling mother... Grace Before Meals

A little bloggy link

Have you heard of Fr. Leo Patalinghug?

Fr. Leo is the host of Grace Before Meals, a web-based cooking show that is, with God’s grace, about to be picked up to air on television. According to the website, the “fundamental concept” of Grace Before Meals is that “the simple act of creating and sharing a meal can strengthen all kinds of relationships.”

Fr. Leo was the keynote speaker at this summer’s... READ MORE
